Storage
Great care goes into the growing, harvesting and processing of coffee. Equal care goes into the roasting, grinding and packing of the finished product. The two basic tips not to waste these efforts and to enjoy a perfect cup are:
Buy less and frequently
Roasting coffee produces flavourful oils. But that flavour can be lost when the coffee is exposed to the damaging air. Coffee is best if used a few daysafter roasting, and if stored properly, flavor and aroma should be maintained for a couple of weeks. Three weeks after roasting coffee can begin to become stale, if not stored properly. Ground coffee becomes stale much faster. If possible we recommend that you buy beans and do not grind more coffee than you will use for immediate brewing.
Store properly
Coffee should be stored in a clean, dry, air-tight container, in a cool, dark place. Never store your coffee in the refrigerator. This is because the coffee will absorb moisture after opening and can absorb flavors and aromas from other food products in your refrigerator. Freezing coffee can also have a damaging effect, and we do not recommend this practice.
